American Idol! It was on last night, and even though Abbey's performance in which he won the Golden Ticket to Hollywood wasn't show, she was on briefly. But she's
all over the place here in Oakland County (including on the elevator where I saw her today at work!)
Abbey made the front page of the Oakland Press on Friday, January 26 (read the story here). Last night after American Idol, she was on the local news (see link to interview below). Then this morning, she was interviewed on Channel 95.5 Radio, and 103.5 Christian Radio in the afternoon. Wow! What a whirlwind!
I missed Abbey's interview this morning on 95.5, but Craig Mayes mentioned it at church tonight. Apparently Mojo issued a challenge to Kensington's pastor, Steve Andrews, to cancel church next Wednesday night so members could stay home and watch for Abbey on American Idol. Craig called out to Steve who was sitting in the audience and Steve declared, "I say we do both!" --------------> So someone will be watching American Idol backstage and if Abbey comes on? The big screens in the auditorium will go straight from Craig to Abbey! How perfect is that?
Oh ... and rumor has it Abbey will be singing this weekend at Kensington's Main Campus in Troy. You're invited to join us! And it's Super Bowl Sunday, too, isn't it? Kensington always has a special message on Super Bowl Sunday "blending football with theology"; this year it's "Who's Your MVP?", with special guest speaker .. Detroit Lions' Quarterback Jon Kitna !!
