Easter at Kensington 2009

            ----->  This year I decided to do something different for my volunteering job at Easter.

I volunteered back- and on-stage for four of the eight Easter services at the Troy campus.   And even though the rehearsals went to midnight and 1am some nights, I didn't even care.  It was really fun and even more rewarding.

The theme was based on 2 Corinthians 5:17 .. If anyone belongs to Christ, they are a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new!

Below are some pictures taken during the last song "I Live in Christ", where along with Alex, Ariane and Drew, I 'painted' Jeff and Kelly.  Actually a very dramatic and moving part of the service.

And in today's Oakland Press .. right on the front page! .. was an article called A New Way to Worship.  Not only the article itself is great, but the comments at the bottom are pretty interesting too.  Yes there are some from people who just don't "get" Kensington, we're used to that.  But what I loved was all the people who wrote in that DO get it, and have been blessed by it.  That's what makes me glad I'm on staff there.

Denny and I went to Kalamazoo today for Marc's birthday ....

College Life

I got a couple new pictures from Marc and Alissa the other day ... they are happy just living their day to day life together: classes, work, getting together with friends.  Just everyday moments.  It reminded me that these are the moments, the regular everyday ones, that years from now we'll look back on with fondness.

          ------>   You Oughta Know by Alainis Morrisette.  The lyrics (we now know) are " it's not fair to deny me of the cross I bear that you gave to me ..."  But how many people thought Alainis was talking about her cross-eyed bear?  Marc and Sara must not have been the only ones  ... (look at this)    : )

Moving Day

Denny and I drove out to Kalamazoo today to see Marc and Alissa!  They had spent the last two days moving into their new apartment so it was great not only to spend the day with the two of them, but to see their new place and take them a few housewarming presents.  Including the scrapbook I had made them.  They loved it .. well Alissa loved it (Marc's a guy, and let's face it, he's been getting these things for years).

We also got to meet Alissa's mom and dad and lots more members of her family.  Then we all went out to The Olde Peninsula for dinner to celebrate Alissa's birthday which was last week!  It was a great day.  I only took a couple of pictures but I had my laptop with me so I fooled around with them on the 2.5 hour drive home.

You might have noticed in my Fourth of July post that there weren't any pictures of Marc.  That's because he and his girlfriend Alissa spent the holiday with Alissa's family up north.  But they sent me pictures : ) so I spent the last few days working on this scrapbook for them.

 

 

----> We're going up to see them in Kalamazoo next weekend so I'll give it to them then : )

I downloaded Rhonna's new Floral Album DigiKit from TwoPeas over the weekend.  Goes so great with my Florida beach pictures!  I think I'll make an album for Nick and Sara ....
