It's official: According to ABC, Facebook's "25 Random Things About Me" is officially a fad. I have to admit that I joined the craze and posted my 25 things on Facebook:
1. i'm a published scrapbooker, mostly Creating Keepsakes Magazine, 100+ times since 1998. And I won a contest where I was one of 25 winners out of 4000 entries.
2. i once made my then-15-year-old daughter since on the porch of a house that Eminem used to live in in Detroit so I could take a picture of her and scrapbook it. It's the porch he was sitting on for the cover of the Marshall Mathers LP. Yes, someone was living there at the time. We barely escaped in my suburban-mom van. That scrapbook page was NEVER published.
3. My high school boyfriend and I came in second place for cutest couple.
4. The coolest thing I've ever won was a 42" Pioneer Big Screen TV from Hawthorne Appliance on Rochester Road when they had their Grand Opening in 1995. It lasted until about 4 months ago. We bought our new HDTV from Hawthorne Appliance on Rochester Road.
5. I think everyone should know how to drive a stick-shift. I believe that so strongly, that I taught my kids Marc and Sara to drive my 4-speed Geo Tracker when they were 13 and 12 respectively.
6. I only started locking my front door when my daughter moved out 3 months ago. Through their high school and college years, we had so many of my kids' friends coming and going at all hours of the night and day, that it was pointless to keep it locked. My house was the hang-out house and we had an open-door policy. I loved it. And I miss those days. But the door is LOCKED now so don't try to walk in!
7. I was an only child and Christmas was me, my mom and my dad. I married the oldest of six kids, all six of those kids are now married with kids. That means Christmases now are like 40 people! And I love it!!
8. When I was a teenager, I didn't like little kids; my mom MADE me babysit. Now I can't get enough of my kids or my nieces and nephews. And I can't wait for grandkids!!
9. I make videos. I made videos for my in-laws 50th Anniversary, both my kids' Senior Videos in high school, and my son's football and basketball videos for all his teams all through high school. And a couple others too.
10. I went to Interior Design School in the early 1980s. Right after I graduated, I got pregnant with Marc and never did anything with it (I'm not good at telling people what to do, even decorating their house!)
11. I like rap music. See #2 above.
12. I get along really well with people my kids' age (early 20s). Sometimes better than with people my own age. I always have. I think that means I'm immature :/
13. I traced my family history back to 1632, wrote a book about it, and self-published it. It's in some libraries.
14. I don't remember most of my childhood. What does that mean? Wait, maybe I don't wanna know .......
15. I like to think of myself as creative and wish I had a career doing something creative and artsy. Photography. Video. Graphic Design.
16. I don't like to cook but I am a computer geek.
17. In 1991, my husband wanted to get a computer. I said, "that's a waste of money, what would we ever use it for?" He said, "you can put your recipes on it." haha.
18. I've seen Kutless in concert three times. The last time, 2 years ago, I snuck up the side steps to get onstage so I could get a picture.
19. I love that Jesus loves me, no I mean really, he loves me.
20. I am still waiting to be "comfortable in my own skin". Isn't that supposed to happen when you reach 50? Still waiting .....
21. I love writing. Blogging. Journaling. It helps me understand myself and organize my thoughts.
22. Psychiatry and the human mind fascinate me.
23. I lived in Tennessee until I was three.
24. I have a Jeep Wrangler and I take the windows OUT in April. They don't go back IN until October. I mean ... they're in my garage. The doors are usually in my garage too :)
25. I google everything. I mean everything.
