But not what you're thinking. After having my first kidney stone last January, I knew what was coming when I felt the familiar pain again last week. To make a long story short, I left work early Tuesday afternoon, went to the emergency room Wednesday morning where they admitted me and performed surgery that night. I stayed in the hospital until Friday. But the stone is still with me ... I'm having the second surgery tomorrow to remove it; then things should get back to normal!
In the meantime, the in-laws had lots of fun tripping over each other to see who could come up with the best joke about me. Including various Bob Dylan renditions. Like this one.
Silly brother-in-law. Don't you know that only 10% of people get kidney stones? Everybody doesn't get stoned.
And when I sent out an all-staff email at work to thank everyone for their prayers and support, I mentioned this little piece of trivia about my in-laws sick sense of humor. Can you believe that one of my co-workers (who also happens to be my across-the-street neighbor) emailed me back and said if I need any food or anything, just yell across the street because he heard stoners get the munchies!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!
(Disclaimer: If I seem annoyed, I'm not : ) Anyone who knows me, knows I love this sense of humor <big grin>)
Speaking of work: While recuperating at home today (actually I was looking through the refrigerator and cupboards for something to eat and finding nothing) the doorbell rang. I answered it ... and look what I got!!!!!!!
Thanks guys!

I wondered where you were! Both Doug & I have missed you on Wednesday night.
Hope that you are feeling much better now - prayers for a quick recovery.
Looking forward to seeing your big smile again.
