Good evening, this is Dan Mountney with Local 4 News at 11.
Sound familiar to anybody? If you're from the Metropolitan Detroit area and were watching the news between the early 1980s and the late 1990s, it might! But in January of 1999, Dan wasn't doing the news, but he making the news:
Dan Mountney, who after 20 years as an anchor and reporter at WDIV-TV (Channel 4) has left his career to join the ministry. He will be a full-time pastor and video director at Kensington Community Church in Troy, Michigan. "Dan has a passion for telling stories about how faith has changed his life and the lives of others."
Fast foward 7.5 years. Dan isn't the video director anymore but he's been the main campus director for over a year. And I've been hired on staff as operations admin. Guess whose team I get to be on?!?!
Today was Dan's birthday; he was so lucky to have six wonderful girls take him out to lunch! He looks like he's having a great time, don't ya think?!?
Going back to his original position at Kensington, Dan really does have a gift at telling impacting stories on video (that was the name of the class he taught at the Arts Conference). Not only by how he puts things together on video, but also by how he speaks from the stage in the auditorium, and just by how he communicates in a regular conversation. He's just really real, and that's so cool!
If you'd like to see for yourself, check out this interview between Dan and his nephew, Mitch: Mitch and Dan

Uncle Dan is my uncle too, stinks he lives all the way in Michigan far away from us in PA
